STEM Summit 2019: For Educators, Business Leaders, Parents and Students
Join us as we work to promote the future pipeline of technology talent in the region. The 2019 STEM Summit is a one-day event designed to showcase the diverse array of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math related careers that are available in southwestern Pennsylvania.
Who should consider attending?
• K-12 educators, administrators, and guidance counselors
• Senior high school students (9th- 12th grades)
• College/University educators, students, administrators, and career counselors
• Business Leaders- Future Employers
At this year's STEM Summit you will learn from Dr. Justin Aglio, Director of K-4 Academic Achievement and K-12 Innovation at Montour School District, as he shares a lively presentation--AI in STEM: It’s Here! Get Ready, Now! You are likely familiar with how quickly Artificial Intelligence is shaping our world, but just as AI hinges on the collection of data, AI’s success will hinge on a collection of shared stakeholders. Attendees will experience how AI in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math is impacting our schools, workforce, communities, and daily lives. Are you ready?
Also, speaking at STEM Summit are members of the Girls of Steel from Carnegie Mellon University, a FIRST® Robotics Competition team, part of an international program with a goal to teach students about science and technology. The group is made up of about 50 teenagers in grades 9-12 from more than 20 schools who build a 120-lb game-playing robot for the FIRST Robotics Competition. In addition to learning technical skills, Girls of Steel members also gain valuable skills for college and their careers. Hear first hand how their involvement in this group is shaping their future in STEM and creating opportunities and connections!
