A key executive from United Airlines lands in Pittsburgh on October 23rd, to discuss the role that information technology plays in powering the success of their operations. Our special guest, Grant Milstead, serves as United Airlines’ Managing Director for IT Network Operations for Customer Contact Centers, Cargo and Catering.
Grant Milstead is the Managing Director of IT Network Operations, Customer Contact Centers, Cargo and Catering Operations for United. In addition to being responsible for all the technology systems that support these employees, Grant is also responsible for mobility for operations technology including empowering employees with over 60,000 mobile devices and award winning applications. The diverse set of operational teams Grant supports includes some of the most critical systems for operating United’s 4,500 flights per day to 339 destinations in Network Operations as well as tools critical to supporting the customer journey in the contact centers and catering operations.
Prior to joining United in 2015, Grant spent 10 years at General Electric, most recently as the Chief Information Officer for GE Capital Rail Services. Grant is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and has a BS from the University of Illinois. Grant is a native of Chicago where he currently lives with his wife Laura.
