The ideas and content generated by persons and companies working in the creative industries are typically of the upmost importance and value, and as such, are deserving of legal protection in the form of intellectual property. This event is designed provide an introduction to the different types of intellectual property, including patents, trade secrets, copyrights and trademarks, and how and why such intellectual property can be created and protected.
Barry Coyne is a registered patent attorney and a partner at Reed Smith LLP. Barry concentrates his practice in matters relating to litigation and counseling in intellectual property. He has been involved in complex intellectual property litigation cases throughout the country and also works in the areas of technology and software licensing, intellectual property due diligence, and patent, trademark, and copyright prosecution and opinion work. Barry has a BS and MS in Aerospace Engineering and worked as an engineer prior to becoming a lawyer.
